5 Tips on staying motivated with your health and fitness goals
Hey guys! Today I’m giving you 5 tools and ways to stay motivated and what I do to stay motivated with my health, fitness and business goals! At the end of this video there is a full body hiit workout that you can follow along with me, so you can get started on your fitness goals right away! 🙂
I’m so excited to about this video because I think we all need it and it’s a question I just get asked all the time: “How do I stay motivated? How am I going to the gym all the time? How do I not get burnt out from eating healthy? It all just comes down to my daily motivation my daily goals and all of that that I’m going introduce you guys to!
The five tools that I use to stay motivated:
1. Set a large goal
I know it’s not rocket science, it’s literally just sitting down and writing out your goal or opening up the notepad on your phone typing out a goal – whatever it is just do it because we can all sit here and wish for the stars – but unless we take action TODAY it’s never going to happen. Then after writing down your goal, break it down into smaller goals. So say you want to lose 50 pounds by
next year all right so what are you gonna do every single month, every single week, and every single day to attain that? What I do is I set about five goals or tasks that I need to complete daily in order to accomplish my bigger goals. So write down five things do you need to do every single day to help you progress in to accomplishing your big major goal. What I love about this is I know that when I go to bed at night I know if I got those five things done then I win the day, I feel accomplished and I don’t feel like I wasted a day and I know that every single day that I do this I’m getting closer and closer to my goal.
2. Create a positive support system
People come in and out of our lives to teach us certain things and there’s the good, the bad, the ugly that comes with all of that, but overall who are you hanging out with? Are they a positive influence? Do they inspire you or do they the complete opposite? If you’re hanging out with people or surrounding yourself with people are doing things that just make you feel like shit you’re not going to want to attain your goals. If you’re wanting to change your life whether it’s you know to get in the best shape of your life or whatever you’re goal is – you honestly have to stop hanging out with the people that don’t support you.
3. Take A Break, But Don’t Ever Quit
Doing the small daily tasks that I talked about in tip number, yes, they can get boring mundane that can burn you out trust me I know I’ve been doing all of this stuff for many, many, many years and I can’t tell you that I love it every single day and there’s a lot of days that I hate doing what I’m doing, but guess what, I have to keep my eyes on the bigger prize picture and keep doing those small tasks every day because I know if I stay on track and stay committed, i know that consistency is key to success – so stay on track! When I’m feeling on those days where I’m like burnt out I just feel like I just don’t want to do this anymore I take a day or two to recommit to my goal, so that’s when i recommend to sit down open up your goals lists and read my goal and think about the reasons why I started this process. I also get my self re-motivated by listening to inspirational podcasts – my absolute favorite podcast on earth right now is the MF CEO project by Andy Frisilla, I also read inspirational books motivational books; whether it’s like business books or entrepreneurial ones so find books that align with your goals. Make a list or while you’re brushing your teeth or before you go to bed think about what you are grateful for and look how much you’ve accomplished! Don’t forget you should be very proud of and be grateful for and don’t forget to just kind of count your blessings and having that as your fire to keep going as well.
4. Daily Visual Reminders
This is my favorite way to stay motivated on the daily so if you guys haven’t seen my videos on vision boards go check those out on my youtube channel! That’s gonna help you get started on your visual reminders. Visual reminders are perfect because they’re right there in your face every single day. You’re going to see it, you’re going to look at it and be like oh that’s what I’m busting my ass for every single day because I want this! I do a vision board at least once a year, sometimes I try to do one twice because you know every six months, it’s not that I read about it but maybe I’ve I’ve
already accomplished certain things on that board and now I want to manifest something new into my life.
I have my vision board is in my office hanging up on the wall I see this every day and then another thing for me is to is I have white boards with goals were in on them in my office. So I have two big
white boards and on these it’s not what I want physically or for my health, but its financial and business goals so this is a great way for me to keep track of what I’ve done previous months and then
my goals for like the current month and coming months and so on! I think that’s also a huge positive way to kind of track your progress and kind of help you like when you’re doing those small little mundane go like tasks everyday you can like look up and whatever be like okay well I did this last month like alright I’m on
track like I got a key I gotta keep doing this so I can hit my numbers this month or whatever. So those are two ways that I use vision boards and white boards visually in my office, a place that I am every single day!
Another thing is something that I just preach all the time is progress pictures!!! So if you’re working on your health your weight your muscle gains anything like that progress pictures are key. Take
those progress pictures because I see it over and over again with clients – you see your body every day so a lot of the time a lot of physical changes are happening that you’re not noticing. If yo take a progress picture onl day one and take another one thirty days from now and if you’ve been sticking to your goals every single day you’re gonna be like “oh my gosh like my body has changed, I didn’t realize how much it’s changed!”. Seeing the progress pictures as you look back on them it just really resets that fire by seeing results – you’re going to keep going! Make sure you take progress pictures! Overall just daily visual reminders are just huge so I highly recommend them.
5. Remind Yourself Why You’re Doing What You’re Doing!
At the end of the day you’re going to get what you put in the work for, so this comes down to mental control, discipline, self control, and no one is going to give you anything you really have to go out and earn it yourself. There’s nothing more gratifying than going out and accomplishing your goals and it becomes an addictive process. It’s a good positive process of setting one goal, accomplishing it, then you set the next one and it becomes this chain reaction of positive events. Then all of a sudden you look yours back and you’re like holy shit I’ve created this amazing life and I did it because I sat down I wrote down that goal on day one!
I was doing these things every single day along the way to achieve what I have today and there’s nothing more satisfying – I promise you! Whether it comes to your body, your lifestyle, your
brand, your business, your job – whatever it is! You can apply these tools to anything that you’re currently wanting to accomplish and you’re going to see massive results!
